Workshop Benefits

- Workshops are less expensive per hour than individual coaching sessions.
- It can be very helpful to be in a group setting with
other people with similar career issues and to know that you're not
alone. You might also gain more ideas and learn more techniques
through group discussion.
- Groups offer a great opportunity to network about job information.
- Your trainer has experience assisting people with job and career issues for over 30 years.
"Job Search Survival" Workshops
"Writing an Effective Resume - Basic" ~ 2 hours
This workshop addresses
basic information about writing a resume. If you’ve never
written a resume or haven’t written one in many years, this
workshop is for you. You’ll create a resume in class,
so come with information that will help build your resume.
"Writing an Effective Resume - Intermediate" ~ 2 hours
Do you have a current resume
but feel you need to improve it in order to make it more
competitive? In this workshop, we’ll review resume basics
and discuss special issues. We’ll also review resumes in
the workshop, so bring at least 6 copies of your resume with you to
review as a group. (Your resume copies will be returned to you.)
"Conducting a Successful Job Search" ~ 2 hours
Have you been looking for
work but find that it’s more difficult and frustrating than you
thought? Are you finding that you’re not making the
progress you want? We’ll address strategies for an
efficient and effective job search. Bring your questions with
you, as there will be time for Q&A and discussion. You are
encouraged to share with and learn from others in the workshop.
"Preparing for Job Interviews" ~ 2 hours
If you haven’t
interviewed in a while or feel that you haven’t been successful
in your interviews, this workshop will help to prepare you for future
interviews. We’ll talk about different types of interviews
and interview questions. There will be time for questions, and
you’ll practice basic interviewing skills.
"Exploring My Job / Career Direction" ~ 3 hours
You need to have
a clear job or career direction in order to write an effective
resume and to be efficient in your job search. In this workshop,
we'll discuss how to clarify your direction. The workshop will
include an assessment.
2007 Schedule
Workshops are available for groups of 6-14 people, and topic content
can be individualized. If you are a group
interested in a Life Horizons workshop, please contact Carol
(workshops@lifehorizons.com) to make arrangements for a workshop date,
time, location and topic.
Workshop Location
Workshops are available in Atlanta in the Perimeter area. However, other workshop locations will be considered.
Workshop Registration
Groups should arrange for workshops at least two
weeks in advance. Once a workshop has been scheduled,
then complete your group's registration by making payment on the
"Payment for Services" page on this website.
Each workshop is
a combination of instruction and interactive exercises.
Therefore, for quality, the workshops will be limited to small groups
of no less than 6 and no more than 14 participants.
